Based near Wembley, this family-run private developer seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to assist on the delivery of a number of high-value residential and hospitality schemes throughout London.
With 50 years of development experience spanning residential/commercial/retail and mixed-use assets, our client has delivered residential schemes ranging from 6 to c.100 units in Central London and currently has a site earmarked for the development of a 17-storey residential tower in Manchester.
Developing almost exclusively for the Private Sale market, our client seeks a versatile Quantity Surveyor from a Private Development background to assist in the procurement of - in the first instance - two new-build hotels: one near one of London's major international airports, the other near Angel.
On completion of these developments - each with contract values approaching £20million - the successful applicant's attentions will then turn to the delivery of several Private Sale and PRS residential schemes, so a dual specialism in both the Residential and Hotel sectors would be an advantage.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the appointee's remit will encompass cost control, project/fund monitoring and progress reporting. This is a five-storey, 'Metsec' frame new-build hotel, so candidates possessing prior exposure to hotel delivery in a private development setting will have an edge.
While our client's need is pressing, they would rather hire the right person and won't be pressured by time constraints into making an appointment. The ideal candidate is likely to possess many of the following attributes:
- degree level education in Quantity Surveying
- minimum of 6 years of industry experience
- demonstrable track-record of successfully procuring high-value projects in a Private Development setting as well as (ideally) having spent some time working for a main contractor
- ability to keep sight of the bottom line
- willingness to constructively challenge internal/external stakeholders
- specialism in both the hotel and residential sectors
- a strong understanding of administering projects under the JCT form of contract
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
-Analysis of tender estimates
-Advising on Main Contract and Subcontract conditions
-Contractor and Design Procurement
-Contractor payments, variations and final accounts
-Cash management and maximisation
-Cash Flow and Turnover forecast
In return for their expertise, the appointee will benefit from a competitive base salary and the opportunity to become a critical part of a team which is enjoying sustained success and undertaking increasingly ambitious projects.
Salary: dependent on experience, up to £75,000.
