One of the UK's most respected and critically-acclaimed developers, renowned for undertaking some of the UK's most creative and culturally significant developments, seek an assured Development Manager with a passion for design and a thirst to be involved in unique and challenging developments. Overseeing the delivery of high-value, super-prime residential development, the ideal candidate will be self-reliant but open-minded and eager to constantly push themselves and learn.

The portfolio of schemes - current, future and completed - they have amassed is testimony to both their creativity and refusal to compromise on design for the sake of ease or economy. Design-led, though never at the expense of practicality, they have a proven track-record of reconciling high design ideals with more mundane considerations like stakeholder ROIs.

Our client has also advised that while the title for the role is that of Development Manager, this will be a hands-on, 'cradle-to-grave' role, equally well-suited to a project manager with a good appreciation of the front-end of the development cycle. As this complex mixed-use, super-prime residential project will move onto site in 2018, the successful candidate's remit will encompass everything post-acquisition through to practical completion of the construction delivery phases. The following will certainly be of importance: third party matters (chiefly Rights of Light), insurance, procurement, funding, financial appraisal, cashflow management, planning conditions/variations.

The ideal candidate will:

- Have a minimum 2:1 degree classification in a property/development related degree

- Possess an MRICS chartership

- Have circa 6 years of exposure to large scale (200+ units), mixed-use, residentially-led developments, as well as the super-prime residential market

- Extensive experience of stakeholder engagement, third party matters, as well as overseeing the delivery phases through to practical completion: procurement, tendering and co-ordination of external consultants/contractors critical in this regard

Truly a 'cradle-to-grave role,' our client has articulated that they are not interested in candidates whose exclusive focus is on land acquisition or feasibility. Instead, they seek a hands-on DM (potentially from a client-side PM background) who is both 'bigger-picture' and has impeccable attention to detail, and can also work pretty autonomously. Just as importantly, they seek people with drive, who enjoy their work, work well within a team dynamic and have a good sense of humour.

Salary: £70,000 - £85,000 per annum dependent on experience
