Group Financial Controller - Property Developer

Salary £90000 - £100000 per annum Sector Accounting and Book Keeping

We are currently working on behalf of revolutionary residential property developer looking to find an commercially minded, ACA qualified accountant to join them as a Group Financial Controller ideally from a Big Four background. Our client, based in the heart of the West End of London, is looking for somebody to assist the Directors to achieve the ambitious goals the business has over the coming year.

The role includes but is not limited to the following duties:

  • Working alongside the directors to help make strategic decisions regarding the business plans
  • The production of timely and accurate monthly consolidated financial reports
  • Play a lead role in the preparation of interim and annual reports for misc. group entity accounts
  • Assist with the company secretarial duties
  • Manage the relationship with HMRC including all general correspondence and issues
  • Providing support to the Group Finance Director and other Directors

You will also be in charge with overseeing the following

  • Group consolidated accounts
  • Intercompany reconciliation
  • Preparation of full consolidated accounts pack
  • Assist with the preparation of annual Group Budget
  • Update company forecast with monthly results and re-forecast to year end
  • Attend weekly cash flow meetings
  • Re-forecast consolidated year-end look ahead
  • Prepare audit files for annual audit
  • Preparation of quarterly Holdings and Partnerships board meeting packs
  • Preparation of quarterly bank accounts pack
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual Group budget
  • Ensure all procedures are being adhered to in order to protect the company from financial irregularities.
  • Managing and overseeing the Finance team
  • To promote our vision to be the leading, most trusted provider of distinctive, quality homes in the UK
  • Undertake other ad-hoc duties, as and when required

The role will involve liaising with the following people and teams:

  • Internal: Directors, Management Accountant, Finance Team
  • External: HMRC, Auditors, Banks and External Stakeholders

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications and prior experience:

  • Experience within the Real Estate or Construction industry is essential for this position
  • ACA/ACCA qualification is a prerequisite for the role, candidates from a Big Four accountancy firm are strongly preferred
  • You must have a strong commercial awareness and experience working alongside directors and business owners
  • Prior track record hiring staff within a finance team would be ideal for this position
  • A passion for property and the real estate sector is crucial
