We have recently received instruction from one of the UK's leading housing developers who are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their multi-award-winning team. Based out of new offices in the heart of London's development hub - the East End - this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join one of the UK's social housing powerhouses.
With a nationwide presence and as many as 11,000 residential units to be delivered in London alone, our client are widely acknowledged to be more 'commercial' than the bulk of their counterparts in the market. With an affordable housing programme leveraged almost entirely off the back of their market sales, this G15 constituent is very much a full-blooded developer.
With a market presence throughout the UK, this slick operation have reconciled a Private Sector operational mentality with a social-conscience and are reaping the rewards. They have enjoyed sustained growth and have both met and exceeded their affordable housing targets in recent years. With a busy development pipeline, coursing with exciting schemes, they not only work alongside reputable Private Developers on a s.106/JV basis, but also undertake a number of land-led schemes alongside their in-house main-contractor - a growing trend which they intend to pursue vigorously in years to come.
The ideal applicant will possess a minimum of 6 years of Project Management, at least some of which will have been spent overseeing volume residential delivery within a Private Development, Consultancy or HA setting (NB. could be a blend of some/all of these).
The hiring manager has stressed that they are less concerned about credentials and more concerned about competency; specifically what the applicant's experience actually comprises. A wide-ranging remit comprising everything from design to completion, evidence of end-to-end, volume residential Project Management will be given precedence above all else. A strong grasp of Contract Administration would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate is likely to possess many of the following qualities:
- A degree level education in a Technical/Construction discipline: e.g. Civil/Structural Engineering/Architecture/Construction Project Management/Quantity Surveying.
- A minimum of 6 years Project Management experience (Private Development OR Consultancy): some exposure to HAs would be advantageous.
- Demonstrable track-record of having successfully delivered high-volume, mixed-tenure/mixed-use, residentially-led schemes.
- MRICS/MCIOB/MAPM Charterhsip
